Runescape vs world of warcraft, which is better?

It's very hard to trust the hearsay opinions (and yes, most opinions concerning these two games are hearsay) of so many people you really have to make the descision yourself. Ill give you a brief rundown of the two to help guide you choice if your looking to start one though.

PVP- if this is yourt primary factor your better off with WoW, runescapes combaitve system isn't exactly the most dynamic and the PVP has alot of faults caused by anti real world trading measures.

Price - runescape is definatly the winner in term of price VS game content. runescape P2P is $5 a month and can still be played to an extent without paying, where as wow comes in at about $15 a month + cost of disks.

Quests - runescapes quests are superior as far as im concerned, but this depends what kind of quests you like. runescapes quests can take hours to complete, following through a storyline while solving puzzles and fighting monsters and gathering items and such, providing for a very immersive storyline. that said, this form of quest isnt for everyone and if you would rather your quests be gathering items from a single source or just going to one location then WoW is a better option.

Character choices - You need to ask yourself wether you want to be constrained to a linear choice set or be free to make choice at will. WoW has you choosing a class and job and such, and you evolve from that point, whereas runescape dosent have a classes or job system. Alot of people say thats a bad thing becasue you have less choice, but i cant see it since this allows you to change to be whatever you want when you want, and allows you to train all skills so that you need'nt be co-dependant with other players.

Player numbers - this is usually the argument i hear that makes wow seem superior, but my usual return here is to ask "how many of those wow players are real players?". Runescape has low to no bots and sweatshoppers, where as wow still has this problem.

Graphics - not really a massive issue for me but i know people like good graphics. wow has graphics that are most likley for the industry, where as runescapes take a different tone. runescape HD is in my opinion on par with Wow's graphics, but the graphical scheme is to different to give a direct comparison. To close, i feel that i can beleive the runescape graphics depth more than wows, but the shapes are not as fleshed out so it comes down to personal choice.

Given all factors, i would say that runescape is superior despite its reputation. However this does vary from person to person so its worth checking out both.
